Tesamorelin
Body composition, beyond the number on the scale.
Clinical findings in HIV-related lipodystrophy
- Less deep abdominal fat
- Reduced waist measurements
- Lower blood triglycerides
Tesamorelin is a peptide that mimics growth-hormone-releasing hormone, prompting the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. Its clinical story centres on the distribution of abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy, giving it a different focus from general weight-loss medicines.

The pathway, explained
Tesamorelin mimics growth-hormone-releasing factor, which prompts growth-hormone release.
Growth hormone increases IGF-1, a signal involved in growth and metabolism.

About Tesamorelin
Where fat sits is part of the body-composition story. Tesamorelin brings deeper abdominal fat into focus through the body’s growth-hormone signalling. Its clinical evidence comes from adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy, giving this peptide a specific scientific profile for those looking to understand fat distribution more clearly.
A specific connection between hormone signalling and visceral fat.
Why location matters
Visceral fat is stored around organs inside the abdomen, unlike the fat immediately beneath the skin. Its location is why body composition deserves a closer look than weight alone. This deeper abdominal fat is central to tesamorelin’s clinical story.
A different starting signal
Tesamorelin mimics the signal that prompts the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. This connects to IGF-1, another signal involved in growth and metabolism. The pathway gives tesamorelin a distinct identity within Bloom’s collection of peptides associated with body composition.
A defined clinical focus
Trials of approved tesamorelin medicines have shown reductions in visceral fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. This specific population and fat-distribution focus are central to understanding the findings, and to comparing tesamorelin thoughtfully with products that have a different scientific profile.
Your Bloom options
Bloom offers Tesamorelin 5 mg or 20 mg as a lyophilized vial or prepared pen, with a Bloom Product Companion and supporting information included. At each strength, the two formats share the same stated total peptide content. A qualified clinician can assess suitability and monitoring needs.
Available options
- Tesamorelin 5 mg or 20 mg
- Available as a lyophilized vial or prepared pen
Tesamorelin’s clinical story has a specific setting: HIV-associated lipodystrophy. General weight-loss management requires separate evidence. Bloom’s 5 mg and 20 mg products are distinct from approved medicines, with equivalence in benefits and safety still uncertain.
